I Created this video for French band Mineral, I only had 4 days to put this together and a minimal budget. I called in my friend and neighbour Larry, he had been in one of moy earlier music videos for the Blow Monkeys and i felt he had a natural 'untrained' acting talent. I also knew he had an amazing workshop full of quirky bits and pieces. I wanted it to feel like a Jean-Paul Jeunet movie as the band were French and Jeunet is one of my favourite directors.

I had the idea of a clockwork toy maker hitting a home made brew while he worked, does the brew transform him into a clockwork disco monkey or is he drunk? I shouted out on facebook to borrow some clockwork toys and bought a couple, I made a giant clockwork key and hired a gorilla :-) (bought a gorilla mask).

I also asked my daughter to be in it, at the time she was only 7, she wouldn't let me see what she was filming so I left her in the room with the camera running and just cut in her bits. I think it works perfectly.
